About These Images

The black arrows here are the 25Hr Means of the last 72 hourly mean surface ocean currents for the Santa Barbara Channel as measured by the HF radio network. Speed scale is in top right of figures. The coastline is in blue. The pink lines are bathymetry at 50m and then every 100m. The currently active HF radio stations are yellow triangles. Oil platforms are represented as black squares. If you point your cursor at either of these last two, you will get a popup with its name.
See 'How It Works' for a description of how these data are collected and processed.
