About These Figures:

The black arrows here are the latest 25hr average mean surface ocean currents and the most recent four hourly mean surface ocean currents for the Santa Barbara Channel as measured by the HF radio network. Speed scale is in top right of figures. The coastline is in blue. The pink lines are bathymetry at 50m and then every 100m. The currently active HF radio stations are yellow triangles. Oil platforms are represented as black squares. If you point your cursor at either of these last two, you will get a popup with its name.
See 'How It Works' for a description of how this data is collected and processed.
