MODIS Data ProductsMODIS V004 DATA AVAILABLE COMMENCING JANUARY 15, 2003. Watch for the release of the entire V004 collection during Spring 2003. Although there may be later improved versions, V004 data are validated for use in scientific publications. MODIS V001 DAILY DATA PRODUCTS NO LONGER AVAILABLE AS OF JANUARY 31, 2003. Please be aware that the MODIS V001 daily data product deletion process will progress from January 17-31, 2003. The daily V001 MODIS land data collection has been replaced by V003 and V004 production. Currently released MODIS Land data products represent provisional (V003) and validated (V004) Terra data sets. The quality of the V003 products may not be optimal and users are advised that the data may not suitable for scientific publication. The V004 collection represents validated data, meaning that product uncertainties are well defined over a range of representative conditions. The V004 data will eventually replace the V003 collection, but both will remain publicly available for at least six months following the completion of V004 production. Users are always encouraged to examine the Science Quality Flag/Explanation metadata in each product's .hdf and .met files.
