Figure Caption. This is a topographic image created from ESA's ERS 1/2 Tandem mission SAR data. The images were acquired in the winter of 1997, just after the jokulhlaup in November, 1996. In collaboration with Larry Smith of UCLA, we are using DEM's to study the disturbance patterns (e.g., sedimentation and erosion) and ice topography changes related to the flood.
