Organization of the Ocean Experiments Database
Goal:

Build an IOP/AOP database for analysis and tuning

Provide web access to the database
Approach:

Use ACCESS to build a relational database based on Key-IDs (Experiment,
Investigator, Cruise, Station)

Import existing SeaBAM and backscatter data
-
Create a list of available datasets to reveal missing values
-
Retrieve missing values from SeaWiFS Bio-Optical Archive and Storage System (SeaBASS)
-
Write PERL scripts that remove header info and data from standard SeaBASS .dat files
-
Implement QA/QC tests
-
Integrate ACCESS database with PHP and MYSQL to make information available on-line
Issues:
-
Only 6 experiments have backscatter values. These data may have to
received directly from the PIs since they may not be available from the
SeaBASS database.
