IPW user contributed software

This release is basically an update of previously released
ipw user contributed software (contrib93, sma95),
including a few bug fixes and enhancements, and a simplified
installation procedure.

Enhancements to existing ipw programs that were included
with contrib93 and sma95 have now been incorporated into ipw v1.1
and are not included in this release.

This is also a beta release of our port to the Dec alpha.
These programs, except where noted have been compiled on the
alpha, but they have not all been tested on the alpha yet.

The directory structure has been reorganized since contrib93.
The crseo directory has been split into individual directories
for each person, and ceretha's software has been combined into
one directory rather than being split into directories based
on who the sofware was written for.

ceretha/	programs written by J Ceretha McKenzie
		these were previously in the directories
		geog, crseo and crrel in contrib93, and in sma95
		this also includes a few new programs
	
		
dozier/         programs written by Jeff Dozier
                this includes the programs distributed in contrib93,
                discord, miefast and mlayr2
                discord, miefast, and trngtrp do not compile on the alpha

frew/		programs written by Jim Frew not included with the
		core ipw distribution

shi/		programs written by Jianchen Shi previously in the
		crseo directory in contrib93

geog/		programs written by Mike Bueno, UCSB Geography Department

bu/		programs from the Center for Remote Sensing
		at Boston University.  These programs were developed
		on a sun.  They have not been compiled and tested
		on the alpha yet.
		 
epa/		4 programs written at the Environmental Protection Agency,
		Corvalis Oregon, by Kelly Longley, recently modified
		and updated by Ceretha McKenzie and Jeff Orkin.

prompt/		ipw prompt interface used in the UCSB geography
		department remote sensing class
		this interface works for all ipw and contrib93
 		programs, but has not been updated with any new programs
		included with this release

khoros/		ipw - cantata interface used in the UCSB geography
		department remote sensing class 
		this interface works for all ipw, contrib93 and sma95
		programs, but has not been updated with any new programs
		included with this release

xv/		ipw - xv interface 
		this directory only contains changes needed to run xv with ipw.
		obtain xv from ftp.cis.upenn.edu
		ipw users are responsible to obtain their own license
		from John Bradley, the author of xv
